The story Sunday in the park by Bel Kaufman is a story about a ordinary situation when you are a mother or a father .
It takes place in a park at a sandbox somewhere in a big city.
A couple sitting on a bench and their kid playing in the sandbox.
But there is another kid playing in the sandbox and this kid throws sand on the other kid
Larry. Joe is the name of this husky boy who's throwing sand on Larry. The parents are furious about the behaviour of the husky boy.
The mother looks for the nurse or mother of this boy.
But she only founds a big man reading a comic. The parents complain about the husky boy but the only reply they get is:
"You go right ahead, Joe. Throw all you want. This here is a public sandbox."
The father of Larry, his name is Morton, is ready to get excited. But in the end he has no chance, because the father of Larry is too strong and determined , he stays and let his son do what he wants.
According to that Morton, Larry and his mother leaving the playground. On the way home Larry cries. Larry wants to play in the sandbox! But a fight wont Morton risk. In this situation Morton lost control. In the end he makes a move towards the boy.
