Steht der Einführungssatz in einer Zeitform der Vergangenheit (z.B. Past Tense, Past Perfect) so ändert sich die Zeitform in der indirekten Rede nach folgendem Muster:

Bei der Umwandlung der direkten in die indirete Rede verändert sich Orts- und Zeitangaben, wenn der ursprüngliche Orts- und Zeitbezug für den Berichterstatter nicht mehr zutrifft.
z.B. tomorrow the next day / following day; last year the day before;
this week that week.

Questions in indirect speech
Fragen werden in der indirekten Rede zu Nebensätzen mit Fragewort ( when, where, etc. Oder if = ob). Die Wortstellung bei diesen Nebensätzen ist Subjekt - Prädikat ( keine Umstellung von Hilfsverben und Subjekt, keine do- Umschreibung). Wenn der Einführungssatz in einer Zeitform der Verbgangenheit steht, so ändert sich die Zeitform wie oben.
