Character descriptions Robert Langdon He is a famous professor of religious iconology and Symbology at the Harvard University. In his leisure time, he does a lot of training and that is why he has a healthy and fit body. In the book he is described as an extremely intelligent and logical man, who always stays cool and knows an answer for everything. I think that he abominates violence and is a person who always tries to solve problems orally. He is my favourite character of this book Sophie Neveu Sophie is the granddaughter of the man that has been murdered in the Louvre. She seems a little bull-headed to me but there are also moments when she focus herself and act like Robert Langdon.

She has left her grandfather when she found out that he was in a secret sect. Since she has broken up her contact with him, that's why I think that she is really vengeful. And there must be considered, that she has been raised by her grandfather because her parents died when she was young. Bezu Fache Fache is a captain in the Direction centrale de la police judiciaire (DCPJ). He suspects Langdon for murdering Jacques Sauniere, Sophie's grandfather. And after Langdon has escaped he just gave him one more reason to suspect him.

Fache is a very strict person, and it's difficult to read his mind. But Langdon manages to trick him every time. Sir Leigh Teabing Teabing is a filthy rich man, who desperately searches for the grail. I think he has made it his aim of life. But in the end he turns up as the real villain. 7.

Themes Religion & Believes; Murder; Secrets, Puzzles & Riddles 8. Personal statement I found this book very exciting. I was very shocked to find out, that Sir Leigh is the teacher. I always thought that the Opus Dei members were planning the whole thing. I really liked the way Sophie and Robert solved all the riddles and in the end somehow also solved the puzzle of Sophie's past. You could really feel how excited and scared the both were.

I can only recommend this book. 9. Extra task Scene 1 Robert and Sophie are in the restroom of the Louvre, they are desperately thinking of an idea to get out without anybody noticing. R: Why does Fache suspect me? S: He thinks that you have murdered my grandfather. (Shows him a photograph) R: Oh my God.why did your grandfather write my name one the floor? S: I don't know. That's why I want to help you out, because then I hoped that you can explain the whole situation to me. R: But I have no idea what is going on here! S: That doesn't matter.

We have to get to a place where we can talk and think. Know, follow me! We have to rush! I have a plan how we can manage to get out of here. Scene 2 Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveu are in the house of Sir Leigh Teabing. They are sitting at a huge, long table. Langdon holds a cup of coffee in his hands. They are all thinking, what step has to be taken next. Suddenly, they hear someone coming.

Silas: Give me whatever you have taken from this bank! R: What do you mean? Silas: I know that you have something with you, give it to me! (Points his gun at Robert) R: OKAY! Don't shot! I'll get you what you want. But you can't open it anyway. Silas: I can't, but my master can! R: I will go and get it for you (Gets out of the room) A few minutes later R: So, here is what you want. Let us go. Silas: (Looks at the cryptex) Seems like the real one. I'm very glad you were so kind.

I may go now. Outside Teabing's house R: Ha! Such an idiot, I managed to open the cryptex while he was talking to you two! S: You're a genius! What was inside? R: It's another cryptex. T: Let me see. Scene 3 Langdon manages to open the last cryptex and there is a small piece of paper with the letters "S-O-F-I-A" written on it R: The last word is SOFIA. That's the Greek word for wisdom and translated it means Sophie, your name S: And what does that mean? R: I suppose that it means that YOU are the Holy Grail. S: But that's impossible! Why hasn't anyone told me yet? R: Simply because they are all protecting you! You are the last remaining offspring of the bloodline of Jesus.

That would answer many questions. S: I can't believe! Why? Why me? Why didn't grandpa tell me? R: I think he wanted to tell you, the night in which he died. Didn't you say that he called you? But you didn't pick up the phone, so you are the only one to blame. S: Oh Robert! (Starts to cry and falls into his arms) I just don't know what I should do now. R: Come on. Let's go home.
