Enrich or endanger
In my opinion the cultural diversity could be both of this. On the one hand you can say that it can be an endanger because the danger of segregation is always given. Immigrants like to live In their own ethnic group, surrounded by their own culture and their friends of the same ethnic, when they are new in a country. But segregation cannot be prevented, especially it cannot be forced. The immigrants must have the chance to select, if they want to be assimilated. Only if they are assimilated they would have the chance to become successful, as it is cherished by them. But success is hard for everyone, not only for immigrants. So they must have the equal chance, as every other person in America. The cultural diversity also gives us the chance to get a view into the foreign tradition. A new tradition is brought into America and also American economy can improve trough this, because immigrants do not only bring new tradition, they can also bring new ideas, because of an other kind of thinking. The best example of non-assimilation is china town. These Chinese people do not need to assimilate because they can get what they want without speaking English. And the language is the key point. If you do not learn the national language you would not be able to be assimilated. In areas like china town you can get an impression of the foreign traditions and you can learn to understand this culture. But in areas where are more and more immigrants there could be a higher rate of crime. Also for the economy, immigrants are very good, especially in California, where most of the immigrants just work for lower wages and most time just for a season. And without this economic factor this state would not be as rich as it is at the moment. But there is also the problem of illegal immigrants. How to handle with this immigrants is a question which is often put. Also the tourist section can improve of immigration as you can see in the example of china town. So all in all there are more positive aspects as negative ones and I would say that the cultural diversity can be an enrich for the nation. But it would be better if there could be a way through the mid. Life can just be better for immigrants if they are willed to learn, willed to assimilate. Obviously assimilation is also a spontaneous process, but this process endures more generations, most time it endures three generation until the immigrant family is completely assimilated. So it is very important that these people are willed to learn the national language, that they are self-reliant, hardworking and morally upright. These are some pre- conditions which lead into a better life in a new county.
