"Advertising is legalized lying.">
H. G. Wells
In our everyday life we are confronted with advertisements which always inform us about new products and their toughness. But sometimes the consumers are disappointed after the purchase because of the missing mention of defects, lacks, failings, etc. in the advertisement. Consequently some people like H. G. Wells are concerned about the credibility of advertisements. In his estimation advertising is legalized lying.
The consumers get a lot of information about the quality and capableness of the recommended object.
Of course the big companies do not want to present their product in a bad way because they want to sell as much as possible. Consequently to make those wares more attractive only positive aspects are mentioned in advertisements and not any negative features like for example the price or the risk for the consumers health. That is the problem expressed in the statement of H. G. Wells.
The best example for both above mentioned negative aspects is the advertisement of "Viagra".
For presenting these tablets promoters use the slogan "Take advantage of this".
It is a pharmaceutical medicament which helps men who are suffering from impaired potency but it is a fact that "Viagra" should have been primary a medicament for healing heart trouble.
So the increase of the potency was just a positive side effect. Now "Viagra" causes heart trouble and could possibly end in a heart attack on excessively consumption.
But the consumer should still "Take the advantage of this" .Of course it is in the discretion of every one of us what we buy or not but the firms who offer these products to the world should be aware of the consequences, if they do not make negative features public.
