The main ingredients are acrylates, like they are used for example in Pampers or simple sanitary towels, as the inventor Denis Bezar says. The long molecule - chains can take up an amount of liquid up to 200 times bigger than their own volume. But Sanoplant functions only as a Granulate, that means that there must be a substance that is coated with it.
Sanoplant gives the H2O to the substance from which the plants receive it. To supply the market with the complete Granulate would be too expensive, therefore the ideal substance to coat is searched in the region where Sanoplant should be used (in the deserts it's sand, of course) and it's coated right there. The goal is to supply only the main substance and to build Coating - machines right on the spot.
The planting is rather easy afterwards. An about 10 centimetres thick layer of Sanoplant is made in the earth and watered regularly. By this the plant is able to root very fast, the roots can grow easily to the ground water resorts. With several layers of Sanoplant below each other the roots can be pulled downwards. Ideal is a combination of windshield - plants and "good" plants such as fruit trees or vegetables. There have also been successful attempts to spray Sanoplant onto dunes to stop them from wandering.
