1.1 Geographical position
Moscow is the capital of Russia with 10.4 mio. People and its 1 thousand squere km big. The river Moskwa crosses the city and its 80 km long.
Moscow is abstract the political, economical and cultural center of Russia.
1.2 Climate
Moscow is in the continental climate zone. In summer there are temperatures of about 17 degree C. and in winter there temperatures are up to -10 degree C.
2.0 History
2.1 Beginning of Moscow
In 1147 Juri Dolgoruki founded a village where he said that there will be a town.
In 1236 Mongols destroyed it and conquered the town.
30 years later Moscow was accepted as a principality under Danil (the youngest son of the Grand-Prince Alexander Nevsky).
In the 14th century large princ Iwan the 3td married the Princess Sofia from Byzanz. Since that time Moscow was applyed as the "third Rome" because she is the niece of the last emperor Konstantin the 11th.
3.0 Culture and Sights
3.1 Kremlin and the Red place
The Kremlin is an old Castle and it was the seat of all Zars and today it is the seat of the Government and President Putin, and next to the Kremlin is the famous tower which have the name "Spasskaja tower".
On the Red place are often national parades and a few sights for example the Statue of Lenin, the bell and the big Cannon of the Zar.
3.2 Terrorism against Moscow
The People from Chechen made Terrorism against Moscow for example they destroyed 2 big buildings, make hostages in the "Bolschoi"large Theatre and planted bombs in the tube.
They do that because they want the Russian trupps go home, so they will be free in his own country.
