Today I would like to present you my essay about health. Health isn`t only the absence of illness but more. Health means: healthy eating a good fitness social contacts and friends no cigarettes and drugs holiday/ relaxation a good job 1. Healthy eating Nowadays people are much more interested in what they eat than in former days. Today they know more about food and it`s components. It`s very important to have a balance of five things in our food*: Proteins, carbohydrates, fats, minerals and vitamins.
Animal products are a good source of proteins. Cereals and sugar supply us with carbohydrates, dairy products are a good source of fats. Without food our body could not stay warm and we are susceptible to illness. Eating rhe right food can help to heal the body faster. Junkfood, for example is very bad for the human body. If you eat Junkfood every day you will be very sick after one month.
I am against eating Junkfood. I think people should buy more fruit and vegetables and cook their own meals. 2. Fitness Everybody should take physical exercise. There are many different sorts of fitness: for example swimming, walking, bicycling and jogging. To do anything for his body is very important for strong muscles and a healthy heart.
People want to be fit, feel good, look slim and stay young. They`re jogging, dancing, jumping up and down, bending and stretching. Doing fitness exercises is in fashion. Lots of people want to know if they can run 42 kilometres and start at a marathon. But marathons are too hard for everyone. Some prefer to get fit at home.
For them there is a big choice of books, cassettes and video programmes with music. 3. Social contacts In my opinion it`s very important to make friends. You can do many things with a good friend: conversation about the hobbies, do sports, go shopping or play computer games. A study has shown that girls and boys who are often alone become ill and depressive. These people have a higher rate of health problems than people with many friends.
Friendship is a relationship, combining trust, support, communication, loyalty, understanding, empathy and intimacy. 4. No cigarettes, no alcohol and drugs Cigarettes and drugs destroy the human body and it`s mind. A lot of young people smoke every day many cigarettes. Boys are more likely to be drinkers, smokers and drug users than girls. They feel like adults and don`t recognize the danger of smoking cigarettes.
Here are some disadvantages of smoking: stinking clothes foul breath kissing that tastes like ash unhealth lungs unhealty veins and arteries They`re addicted to drugs and are not able to stop with smoking. Some of them get cancer and must die. Here are the most important drugs: Marijuana, Speed, Ecstasy, Poppers and Nitrates. These drugs are very dangerous because people are addicted to the chemical substance. Drugs change the individual personality and many people finally have to die. 5.
Holiday/Relaxation Relaxation is the opposite of tension. For many people stress and anxiety have become so much a part of our daily experience that we fail to notice its harmful effects. We recognize symptoms of emotional or behavioral disturbance. Meditation is a possibility to help calm the mind and the body. Massage can help to stretch and relax tight muscles. Breath control is a very effective stress technique.
Hot baths, sauna, whirlpool and beautiful holidays can be helpful parts of a relaxation programm. 6. A good job First of all you have to find a job that corresponds to your talents and ideas. To get a suitable job you need a very good certificate. Later on, when you`re just working, it`s very important to handle the following key qualifications: motivation, friendliness, knowledge and knowhow, communication with the employed people; avoid mobbing and offences. Everybody should be glad about the job.
