Foil 1: Cover - Drugs and why people take them
My topic is drugs and now I want to tell you something about it.
Foil 2: Summary
Before I start wit my presentation, I will give you an overview on the parts of my presentation.
Firstly, I will talk about legal and illegal drugs.
The second part of my presentation shows reasons for taking drugs.
In the third part the effect of drugs is mentioned.
And the fourth and last part is questions and answers on my topic.
Foil 3: 1. Legal and illegal drugs
1.1 First legal drugs, for example painkillers prescribed by the docter, cigarette with the substance nicotine, alcohol such as beer or whisky, coffee with caffeine and poisonous plants like toadstool. You can buy them anywhere.
1.2 But most drugs are illegal and now I give you some examples. There you can see some pictures of drugs. Hanf or hashish, anabolic steroid, cocaine and heroine. But this is only a small survey on drugs. You can only get them illegal for example from a dealer. They cost a lot an in order to have enough money people become criminal.
Foil 4: 2. Why do people take drugs?
2. The main point of my presentation is answer to the question "why do people take drugs".
One very important reason is that youngsters between 12 and 18 are interested in the effects. But friends play an important part, too! Because when friends take a drug, you try it too or you take it just for a test. At first young people mostly take legal drugs like cigarettes or alcohol. Later when it isn't enough they begin to have low drugs like hashish and then they change to harder drugs.
But there are also other reasons why they take drugs. An other example is that they want to feel free or that they want to forget problems and stress. They hope they can do more and more things without any break. And they think that they can get better results at school and in doing sports, as well.
Some people use drugs, such as anabolic steroid to build up the muscular system faster and better.
Foil 5: 3. The effect of drugs
3.1 Nerve without drugs
When a signal comes, the nerve sends stuff to another nerve or to the brain.
3.2 Nerve with drugs
But when someone has used drugs, the nerve doesn't send stuff, not enough stuff, too much stuff or the nerve or mind can't accept the stuff. That means that the nerve doesn't have predictable reaction.
Foil 6: 4. Questions and answers?
Have you got a question? Answer.
