Today about 108 countries in the world do not have a death punishment including Germany, Greece and Turkey.
But still more than 100 countries use death penalty as a way of punishment. For example China, Japan, Russia and the USA. Some of those countries still execute by using the Death injection, the Electric chair, Shooting or throwing stones.
China has the highest number of executes with at least 1000 known executions each year. The following countries are: Saudi Arabia with 123 and the USA with 85 executions.
Also people under 18 are being executed in countries like the USA, Iran, Pakistan and Nigeria. But the country that executes more underage people than all the others together is the USA.
Some of the arguments for death penalty that countries that include the death penalty in their punishments are that if murderers are sentenced to death and executed, murderers will think twice before they will kill someone. Another argument is that death penalty helps to prevent future crime.
One of the most important arguments against death penalty as a way of punishment is: That it hurts the "Right on Life" that everybody has the right to live and nobody has the right to kill another person on purpus witch is one of the basic Human Rights.
Concluding one can say that Death Penalty as a way of punishment should be forbidden in all countries because it hurts the Human Rights. A lifelong punishment is a more effecter way to make people who have murdered understand their fault than killing them, because if someone has to live in prison, for the rest of his life, where he can do nothing he maybe will understand his fault but when he is dead he can't understand his mistake.
